B2MATCH terms and conditions of use Applicable between B2MATCH and end users/event attendants (“You”)
1. Introduction and scope of application
When you register for an event on the website you agree to the terms and conditions set out below. In case there are additional event organiser related Terms and Conditions you agree to those as well. If you do not agree to the Terms and Conditions, you may not register for an event on this website.
B2MATCH offers online services with interactive features for which you will have to create a profile. The interactive features allow you to sign-up for event related sessions (workshops, bilateral meetings), search for other participant profiles, request bilateral meetings (if foreseen), view the profiles of other participants and keep you up to date with topic related upcoming events.
If event participation requires payment you will be transferred to a dedicated web site created by an external contractor acting as processor (see section 7).
During the registration process personal data will be collected and further processed for the purposes detailed hereafter. The relevant processing data processing and the event are under the responsibility of the event organizer (contact data can be found on the website – see menu Contact) 1.1 Role of B2MATCH
B2MATCH provides the technical platform infrastructure and the match making software.
1.2 Role of the event organizer
This event is managed by the organisation(s) indicated on the Contact page. The event organisers determine which information is collected and accessible online. For any questions regarding this event contact the event organizer.
2. Use of data and data protection 2.1 What personal information do we collect/process and for which purpose?
Data we collect Contact data (name, organisation name, position, address, contact details, phone, email, password,…) Business related data to initiate and support the matchmaking process e.g. Organisation description, Business-, Project- or Research proposals (I am offering ..., I am looking for ...)
You are advised not to insert any confidential information.
Purpose Contact data provided are used to facilitate the event management for the event organisers. The business profile (cooperation profile) related data are used for facilitating the arrangements of the matchmaking process.
2.2 Who has access to your data?
General remarks on visibility The event organisers determine which data (contact data, business profiles) is publically available on the website. Usually contact data and business profile related data are visible to initiate and facilitate the matchmaking process (email and phone are usually excluded). B2MATCH, the organisers and co-organisers as specified under “Contact” on this Website may use your contact data to assist you prior, during and after an event, if required.
Private Events In case the event is operated as “private” event your data are only made accessible to registered and approved participants. This is explicitly indicated and mentioned on the website. In case of uncertainty please contact the main organizers for further details.
Other participants Due to the nature of a matchmaking event data inserted can be either viewed by website visitors or already registered participants.
Event organizer Event organizers have access to all data you provided (password excepted) and can download your data in Excel format to manage registration lists, name tag, catalogues, etc.
Event co-organizer Event organizers can assign access right to co-organizers where appropriate (e.g an Austrian co-organizers may receive access right for Austrian participants).
How long do we keep your data? The period of time a certain B2MATCH matchmaking website is determined only by the main event organizer. Usually a B2MATCH matchmaking website is online for about 2 years after the event.
2.3 Editing and deleting data
Inserting During the registration process you are requested to insert data as indicated in the registration forms. Inserted data must be correct and must not violate any other person(s) and/or organisation(s) rights. You can edit and modify your data any time you like afterwards.
Editing by the event organizers Event organisers and co-organizers have the right to modify the submitted data for quality enhancement.
Deleting data You can’t delete your profile, but you can request the deletion of your profile via the main event organizer. Usually requests for deletion of profile are handled promptly. In case your request is not processed within a reasonable period of time please contact the B2MATCH support office (office@B2MATCH.com). 3. Changing terms of use
B2MATCH retains the right to change these terms of use at any time. You will be notified about an upcoming change prior to its effective date. If you do not object within 2 weeks from receipt of notification the change of the terms of use becomes effective. Notification will take place on the B2MATCH website. You are therefore recommended to regularly check the terms section on the B2MATCH website for updates.
4. Website content
Website content The static pages of the website (Home, Contact, Agenda …) are inserted and edited by the event organizers. B2MATCH GmbH has no influence on the content and layout of such pages. Information submitted to B2MATCH must comply with the laws of the country, where the event takes place. B2MATCH websites may contain links to third party websites. For these external websites B2MATCH is not liable.
Participant’s profiles Participant’s profiles are inserted by the participants. B2MATCH is neither obliged nor has the capacity to examine any of the data inserted.
5. Copyright
The website itself the graphics, images, pdfs and similar content are protected by Copyright Law. It is therefore not allowed to edit, copy or publish such content without the explicit consent of B2MATCH or the mentioned sole owner of the copyright. You will also not undertake any technical action that violates the copyright of B2MATCH or the mentioned copyright owner.
You agree that B2MATCH and the event organizer can use content published by you irrevocably for the purposes described in these Terms. As long as B2MATCH and the event organizer the right mentioned above, you are solely liable for the published content and any damages resulting from breach of rights of third parties (especially copyright). You will hold harmless B2MATCH and the event organizer in this respect.
6. Technical information
Data security B2MATCH undertakes various technical measures in accordance with data protection law to prevent abuse from outside. This includes measures such as firewalls, anti-hacking programs and other security measures. The data on the B2MATCH servers are backed-up twice a day. B2Match undertakes everything to avoid any loss of data. In the very unlikely case that data are lost B2MATCH excludes liability for deleted files or any lost data.
Disorders of online access B2MATCH cannot guarantee constant accessibility or functionality of the website. B2MATCH is not liable for any defects that may exist or for any costs, losses of profit, losses of data or consequential losses arising from your use of or inability to access the Web site as well as from incorrect information.
Cookies To extend the functionality of our website and to make the use of the website more comfortable, B2MATCH uses "cookies". Data are stored on your computer when visiting our website to make login and navigation more comfortable. In case you disable the use of cookies this could, however, reduce the functionality of our website features. B2MATCH uses cookies to facilitate user navigation.
Log files and statistics For technical reasons (security reasons and protection of this website) B2MATCH automatically collects server log data which are transmitted from your browser. The log data are automatically deleted after 14 days.
Google analytics This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses “cookies”, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States.
Google will use this information on behalf of the operator of this website for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing them other services relating to website activity and internet usage.
Where do we store data? The collected data, business profiles (if inserted) and all other event related information is stored on the servers of B2MATCH GmbH. Our servers are located by Hetzner AG in Germany.
7. Fees and Payment of costs incurred
The event organisers may decide to charge fees for the attendance at an event. For such reason you may be asked for an online payment via an external website (STRIPE). B2MATCH is neither party nor in any kind involved in such payment processes and cannot be held liable for the success or failure of such payments.
8. Your obligations and consent
You hereby agree that you will only use the Website in accordance with these Terms and/or additional Terms.
You are responsible for any content provided by you which is published on this website.
You agree to indemnify B2MATCH and the event organizer on demand immediately for any losses or damages, including where necessary any legal, administrative or technical charges, that may arise from misuse.
Due to the nature of a matchmaking event organizers will initiate several mailings to inform and alert participant’s about the start of booking B2B meetings, reminders to book B2B meetings, confirmation of participation, meeting schedules, feedback, etc.
B2MATCH informs you in an interval of one month about topic-related upcoming matchmaking events. You have the right to opt-out from receiving these emails via an unsubscribe link attached to> each email at any time. You agree, irrespective of your entry into the list according to § 7 Abs 2 Austrian E-Commerce Act (ECG), to receive emails / newsletters concerning upcoming events related to your profile and/or new services from B2MATCH.
In case you do not want to receive any further mailings via the B2MATCH platform for a specific event please contact the main event organizers. In case your request is not handled promptly feel free to contact the B2MATCH support (office@B2MATCH.com).
9. Consequences of breaching terms of use?
In case of an infringement of these terms and conditions B2MATCH retains the right to delete your user related data and content published by you.
10. Limitations of liability
B2MATCH neither endorses nor examines any of the material submitted to us and/or posted on the Web site concerning its compliance with law. This includes the accuracy of any text, information, data, representations, statements or other material whatsoever. B2MATCH is neither liable nor responsible for the quality of an event.
We exclude, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable laws, and save in respect of death or personal injury arising from our negligence, all liability for any claims, losses, demands and damages arising directly or indirectly out of or in any way connected with the event and/or the Website. This exclusion shall apply in respect of, without limitation, any interruption of service, lost profits, loss of contracts or business opportunity, loss of data, or any other consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, even if We have been advised of the possibility of such damages, whether arising in contract, tort, under statute or otherwise.
11. Law applicable and place of jurisdiction
The place of jurisdiction is Vienna. Austrian law is applicable.
